Privacy Policy

• Your email address (provided through Stripe at checkout)
• Your email and a password, if you create a BigTranslator account for the ChatGPT app. We store the password as a hash and email you a confirmation link. A purchase on that email can be used from ChatGPT only after the inbox is confirmed.
• The PDF documents you upload for translation, including a PDF sent from ChatGPT after you connect that account
• Where a visit started, if you later pay: the page you first opened, the address of the site that linked to us, campaign parameters in that link (source, medium, campaign, term, and content), and an ad click id such as gclid when the link has one. We keep that in your browser until checkout, then store it on the paid order. We do not add your IP address to it.
• An optional answer, after you pay, to "How did you hear about us?" (search, an AI assistant, a friend, social, or other). That answer is saved on the order.

We use your information to process your translations and send you redemption links and translated document delivery emails. A BigTranslator account exists so ChatGPT can connect you to a translation you already paid for on this site. When you pay, we also keep the first-visit record above on that order, including the last site that referred you if you came back from somewhere else, so we can see where paying customers found us. We do not sell that record or send it to an advertising network.

Your PDFs are processed in isolated containers. Translated documents are made available for download via a secure link, then automatically deleted from our servers. We do not retain customer documents permanently.

We do NOT use your uploaded documents to train AI models.

All payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, handle, or store credit card information. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant.

We use Resend to send transactional emails — your redemption link after purchase and your translated document delivery email. We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional content.

We use minimal cookies, only what is needed for the site to function. Signing in to a BigTranslator account sets one cookie so you can connect that account to ChatGPT. We also set a first-party cookie named bt_attr, and keep a copy in this browser's local storage, so checkout still has the first-visit record if you pay later. That cookie is read only on bigtranslator.net. It is not set by a third-party tracker, and it does not follow you on other websites. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies.

We work with the following service providers:

• Anthropic — Claude AI powers our translations
• Stripe — handles all payment processing
• Resend — delivers our transactional emails

You can request deletion of any data we hold by emailing james@bigtranslator.net. We'll process your request promptly.
